Welcome

I'm so glad you found your way here.

For twenty years, I've designed literacy programs across the US, Haiti, and East, West, and Southern Africa, grounded in the science of reading and in whole child development. What I have learned across every classroom, every curriculum, and every child is this: emotional regulation is a cognitive prerequisite for reading, and literacy is a wellness outcome, not only an academic one. My work is to design curricula, train educators, and evaluate programs that treat those truths as foundational, not as add-ons. As a certified reading specialist and a clinical mental health counselor in training, I am formalizing the clinical lens this work has always required.

What I deliver

  • Literacy materials, scope and sequence, and intervention models that build emotional regulation into reading instruction so children can actually access the cognitive work the curriculum asks of them.

  • Bibliotherapy-informed curriculum design that uses the same text to teach oral language skills, phonemic awareness, build background knowledge, and emotional vocabulary at once, turning the literacy block into a space where children read and build resilience.

  • Trauma-informed assessment training that helps educators tell the difference between a child who cannot read and a child struggling with language acquisition, a learning disability, or lack of basic needs so your intervention decisions are based on the whole child.

  • Teacher training and professional development that rebuilds reading identity in struggling readers and equips educators to hold the vulnerability that learning to read requires.

If your work touches resilient children (multilingual learners, immigrant and refugee students, children navigating trauma), I would love to brainstorm with you. So, whether you are ready for a conversation or just curious, let's connect.
